When you make a 911 call using your Residential Voice service:
- Your registered address and phone number are automatically sent to the nearest emergency response center.
- Emergency responders use this information to locate you, even if you can’t provide your location verbally.
Important Notes About E911 #
- It Won’t Work During Power or Internet Outages
- Residential Voice relies on network connectivity and power. Without them, 911 calls cannot be made.
- Mobile Phones vs. E911
- Unlike mobile phones, which rely on GPS, E911 relies on the registered address associated with your service.
