Connecting to Your WiFi Network #
When your FibreTel service is installed, getting online is as easy as clicking a link or scanning a QR code. Here’s how:
1. Check Your Installation Email or Text #
- After installation, the main contact on your account will receive an email and a text message with your default WiFi network name (SSID) and password.
- On your mobile device, simply click the “Connect to WiFi” link in the message to join the network automatically.
- Prefer to scan? Use the QR code included in the email to connect instantly.
2. Use the My Account Portal #
Visit myaccount.fibretel.ca to manage your WiFi settings and find all the details:
- Main WiFi Network: View the SSID, password, and QR code for your personal connection.
- Guest WiFi Network: Access the separate guest network SSID and password, along with its QR code. (Note: There’s no “Click-to-Connect” option for the guest network.)
- Using the guest network ensures your personal devices and data remain secure while offering convenient internet access for others.
3. Share Your WiFi Securely #
- To share your Main WiFi with family members, select “Share with Family” in the portal.
- Enter a phone number to send the login details by text or an email address to share via email.
- To share the Guest WiFi with visitors, click “Share with Guests.”
- Enter their phone number or email address to send the guest network details, keeping your main network private and secure.
Why Use the Guest WiFi? #
The guest network is a separate connection designed to provide secure internet access for your visitors. By sharing the guest WiFi, your personal devices stay isolated, ensuring your network remains secure and your internet speeds uninterrupted.
